Hawker Post Office
Located in Hawker Place, Hawker shopping centre, 10
kms west of the City centre, Hawker post office opened as a post and telephone
office with money order facilities on 27 June 1977. The Office later became a Licensed Post Office and at 1 January 2020, continued to operate from Shop 5, 38 Hawker Place, Hawker, A.C.T. 2614.
The office utilized a Type 4A(i)(T)
‘ACT’ post code 2614 date stamp recorded between 1982 and 1989. The office
subsequently used a Type 4E(i) ‘ACT’ date stamp recorded between 1980 and
1981. A Type 4F ‘ACT’ code 1 date stamp is recorded in 1995. The office was a
licensed post office by August 1994.
