Fyshwick Post Office (II)



Located in the industrial suburb of Fyshwick, 9 kms south east of the City centre, the Fyshwick post office originally opened as a post, telephone and money order office on 8 June 1959, operated by F J McCowan. The office temporarily closed on 31 October 1959 before reopening at this location on 7 May 1962, operated by AC Voutas. The office again temporarily closed on 22 September 1965 and reopened at a new location on 13 November 1967.


The office utilized a Type 3B ‘ACT’ date stamp recorded between 1963 and 1981.
