Macquarie West Post Office
Located approximately
8 kms from the City centre in the Macquarie shopping centre, Macquarie Place,
Macquarie, Belconnen district, the Macquarie West post office opened as a post
and telephone office with money order facilities on 1 April 1968,
operated by Mavis Sealey. The office name was changed to Macquarie
post office (II) on 2 January 1969.
On opening
the office utilized Relief date stamp ‘125 ACT AUST’, also used at Macquarie Post Office (I).
