Braddon (1) Post Office


Approximately 2 kms north of the Civic Centre a post and telephone office together with money order office opened on 2nd August 1965, at 11 Lonsdale Street. D T Hutchenson was postmaster. The office closed on 28 March 1974. At the time of closing the office was operated by Mr L. Lupton, appointed postmaster in January 1966. The Office was closed due to a redevelopment project.

On opening the office utilized Relief ‘107 ACT AUST’ date stamp together with provisional registration labels, followed by a Type 3E(i) ‘ACT’ date stamp recorded in 1967.
