A non-official post office was opened in Throsby Crescent in the suburb of Griffith on 15 July 1957. Post master was A V Curtis. The name was changed to Barker Centre on 1 October 1965 and subsequently renamed Griffith Licensed Post Office on 1 May 1994.

A Type 3 (i) date stamp was used at this office.


17 November1959 use of 1/7d registration envelope (opened three sides) registered at Throsby Crescent and uprated for rate increase.
