Barker Centre Post Office 



Barker Centre Post Office, previously Throsby Crescent Post Office in the suburb of Griffith. Established 1st October 1965 and operated by Ms Joyce Smith. Name changed to Griffith Licensed Post Office on 1st May 1994.

On opening the Office utilised cut-down Relief 'STL'A.C.T. until new date stamp was delivered. A Type 3D(ii) ‘ACT’ date stamp was introduced on 18 November 1965 and is recorded between 1965 and 1993. 

The office was renamed Griffith as from 2nd May 1994, at which time it was operating in conjunction with the Griffith Pharnacy.
