Chisholm Post Office
Located in the district of Tuggeranong
24 kms south of the centre of Canberra,
Chisholm post office is located in the Chisholm shopping centre Benham Street,
Chisholm. The office opened as a post and telephone office agency on 27 July 1987, located in the Chisolm Newsagency. The decision to open an agency at Chisolm was driven by the average sales of $1500 per month, derived from a postal vending machine, installed in the newsagency in December 1986.
By October 1994 it was a licensed post office operating out of Shop 5.
As at 12 February 2020, Chisholm Licensed Post Office was operating from Shop6/42 Halley Street, Chisolm Village Shopping Centre.
On opening Relief, '108' ACT-AUST, date stamp was utilised until 18 August 1987, when the regular date stamp was delivered. A Type 4A(i) 'ACT ', postcode 2915 date stamp was subsequently utilised and recorded in use between 1987 & 1992.
By October 1994 it was a licensed post office operating out of Shop 5.
