Chifley Post Office
Located in the Woden district
approximately 13 kms south south west of the centre of Canberra, Chifley Post office is located in Chifley Place,
Chifley. The office opened as a post and telephone office with money order
facilities on 15 December 1966 and closed on 19 May 1993.
The office utilized a Type 3E(i) ‘ACT’
date stamp recorded between 1966 and 1967 and a Type 4A(i) ‘ACT’ post code 2606
date stamp between 1975 and 1992.
