Amungula Post Office
Located in New South Wales, East of Canberra on the Sutton Road to Queanbeyan and 4 miles south east of Sutton, Amungula opened as a receiving office on 1 June 1908, at the property of G A McInnes. The Office, which derived its name from that of the Parish in which the McInnes property stood, serviced a number of properties which would later be acquired by the Commonwealth and become part of the Federal Capital Territory. McInnes was appointed as Receiving Office Keeper.
On 1 September 1912, the Office was upgraded to a Post Office which operated until 16 March 1925, where upon it closed and became a Telephone Office. The Telephone Office closed on 22 February 1957.
The Office utilised a Type 2A date stamp recorded by Hopson and Tobin in 1914 only. No other markings were recorded from the Office.
