Yarralumla (I) Post Office was previously known as Bulga Creek Post Office, changing name on 1 January 1892. On 2 April 1895 the post office closed becoming a receiving office. Its name was subsequently changed to Cotter Junction on 1 May 1908.


The office utilized a numeral obliterator No. ‘1494’ and a Type 1D(i) date stamp.
