Mawson North Post Office
Located in the shopping centre at the
corner of Ainsworth and Colebeck Streets, Mawson, 12 kms from the City centre
in the Woden Valley district, the office opened as a post and telephone office
with money order facilities on 4 August 1969 operated by J W Davey. The office
closed on 23 August 1974.
On opening the office utilized Relief
date stamp ‘108 ACT AUST’. A Type 4A(i) ‘ACT’ post code 2607 date stamp is
recorded in use between 1970 and 1973.
