Australian Capital Territory Post Offices

Curtin South

Curtin South Post Office

Previously Curtin Post Office (1) the name of the office was changed to Curtin South on 4 January 1967. The office subsequently closed on 5 May 1972, on account of the small amount of business being transacted.

Interestingly, Alan Salisbury recorded that the Office opened as Curtin South on 22 July 1971. I am yet to examine the official post office file for this Office. However, Hopson & Tobin recorded the office as having used Type 3D(i) ‘ACT’ date stamp in 1968.

The postmark is a scarce commodity.
