Avenue in the Canberra City
Centre opened as an official post office on 31 August 1970. The Office was a very short distance from Civic Square, London Circuit, Canberra. In January 2020, the Office was operating from Shop 14/148 Bunda Street, Canberra, some distance from Civic Square.
The post office utilized Type 4A(i)
‘ACT’ post code 2608 x 2 date stamps recorded between 1972 and 1991. The office
also used a Type 4A (i)(T) ‘ACT’ date stamp between 1979 and 1982. A Type 4F
Code ‘3’ date stamp was recoded in use in 1991.
Priority Paid Relief '185' was used at the Office in May 1987.
