Civic Square Post Office




Civic Square post office, located at the western end of Ainslie Avenue in the Canberra City Centre opened as an official post office on 31 August 1970. The Office was a very short distance from Civic Square, London Circuit, Canberra. In January 2020, the Office was operating from Shop 14/148 Bunda Street, Canberra, some distance from Civic Square.

The post office utilized Type 4A(i) ‘ACT’ post code 2608 x 2 date stamps recorded between 1972 and 1991. The office also used a Type 4A (i)(T) ‘ACT’ date stamp between 1979 and 1982. A Type 4F Code ‘3’ date stamp was recoded in use in 1991.

Priority Paid Relief '185' was used at the Office in May 1987.
