Narrabundah (I) Post Office

On 1 August 1949 a non-official post office was opened in a shop in Second Street, Narrabundah. The office was operated by B W Tuckerman. Money order facilities were established on 4 September 1950. The office closed on 30 July 1960. In 1954 a shopping centre was built in Iluka Street, nearly half a mile to the east and Mr. J. P. Maleganas was licensed to sell stamps.

The office utilized a Type 3(i) ‘ACT’ date stamp recorded between 1955 and 1959. The date stamp was transferred to Narrabundah (II) Post Office on 1 August 1960.
