Top Naas Telephone Office

Top Naas is located approximately 40 kms from Queanbeyan and approximately 10 kms south of Tharwa.

The Office opened as a Telephone Office and exchange on 9 September 1947,operated by Mrs A Oldfield. The Office closed on 11 November 1972 following upgrade to Small Country Automatic Exchange.

The Office utilised a Type 3(iii) date stamp inscribed N.S.W. Examples of the date stamp are rare. The example depicted below is ex Alan Sailsbury and provided courtesy of Australia Post's Philatelic Archives, Philatelic Group.
