Fyshwick Post Office (I)



Located in the industrial suburb of Fyshwick, 9 kms south east of the City centre, the Fyshwick post office opened as a post, telephone and money order office on 8 June 1959, operated by F J McCowan. The office temporarily closed on 31 October 1959 before re-opening at another location on 7 May 1962.

The Office utilised A.C.T. cut down Relief date stamp 'T R' on opening. Fyshwick also utilized a Type 3B ‘ACT’ date stamp recorded between 1963 and 1981.
